Lafayette Square 1/30

The Fleur De Li's
The area was founded by the French in 1764. From the name to the Fleur De Li's
that are seen through out the area are reminders of the origins of the area.
With the age of the area many house were getting renovated.

The architecture
while walking around the area you cant help but to look at the old buildings. Each building
has a different look to it some, have bright colors and others are made of stone. This was
my favorite of all the houses we walked by.

An Old Fountain
This looked like an old fountain that some one turned into a planter. What really
caught my eye was the metal sculpture in the middle. It reminded me of the
worlds fair since it looked similar to a globe.

Artistic influences
When we started to leave the residential area to head to the park I caught a glimpse of this
statue from the road. I felt this was the best way to sum up all the sculptures and
layouts of some of these houses.

The Revolutionary War
This is a cannon from the British warship Acteon, which was sunk while attacking Fort Moultrie.
there now exist three cannons from that ship in the park. This area is flooded with history
the oldest baseball field was not far from this spot.

A Pond
This is my favorite picture I took that day. I wanted to get a little bit of everything
the pond was frozen with the bridge in the background and the leave-less trees.
